office of profit

One more 'great act' by Mrs.G - here
Was it again her inner voice that influenced this decision?

he roars too

Saw the whole of Raj's first independent public rally and must say 'the alleged charisma reflects in his speeches too'.

trademark style --

> Standing on the dias and Waiting for close to 5 minutes for the fireworks to stop surely angered him.. "Band karaa re te"
> "Aaz paasoon konihi paya padayche nahi" -- this made sense, real sense
> "Roz sakaali alarm vaazto 'pawaarrrrrrrrr' - regarding the earlier speculations that he would be joining NCP
> "Maidanavar bambu aahetach" -- Regarding what should be done to contractors who are responsible for the state of roads in Maharashtra .. "barobar kalla tumhala" .... Attack at its best!

However, 1 thing I did not like - After lambasting almost all major political parties of the state, he conveniently 'did not' mention BJP.. An alliance in the future? Your guess is as good as mine!

Babbar roars.....

-- Only to get kicked out of the party.

One of the senior members of the party, he has been in the shadows for long thanks to apne bhaiya, maanniya Amar Singhji. It is public now that Babbar was feeling left out, with coverage being given to 'other film personalities' namely Mrs.B and Jaya Pradha (Jaya Pradha In UP ...hahaaa), on the behest of Amar Singh.

Is it a one-off incident or will more revolts ensue??
My verdict: Future revlolters have got a clear and loud message - "You can't fight Amar Singh, he is too powerful for you". So more revolts - very doubtful!!

And whats in store for the actor-turned-politician now that he is suspended from the parliamentary party for 6 years?
After, making public his comments on the phone-tapping controversy
- 'Kuch log kehte hain ki usme kisi mahila se baat cheet hai. Kuch log to yeh bhi kehte hain ki Mulayam Singh ko marne ki baat hai. Ab hum kya jaane'

.......the doors of SP seem to be shut forever for the MP from Agra.

Is the Congress the next stopover??
   Very much likely!!

Bye Bye Byta...oops Buta

Scene 1: (November 2004)
Buta Singh is handed over the reins of the post of 'Governor of Bihar'

Scene 2: (May 2005)
A close finish in the Bihar state assembly elections, with the JD(U) + BJP comination garnering more seats and managing to woo MLAs from other parties. There are shouts of horse-trading and Buta dissolves the house.

Scene 3: (July 2005)
Buta puportedly writes to the Union Railway Minister requesting favors for two senior railway officers

Scene 4: (August 2005)
Buta decides to transfer 17 IPS officers. The NDA is agitated (as usual). Bihar Chief Secretary too protests against the Guv's decision

Scene 5: (November 2005)
Re-elections in Bihar. JD(U) and allies' clear sweep. Buta is silent.

Scene 6: (January 2006)
- SC indicts Buta for his decision to disslove the Bihar house.
- Among rumours that he is looking for a respectful way out, the Governor takes the Republic Day salute.
- Just hours after taking the salute, Buta faxes his resignation to Prez.

NDA now says that they are not satisfied with Buta Singh's resignation and they want the PM to resign too ......

Way to go people!! Finally you've got some work to do now & a 'valid' reason to disrupt the proceedings of the Parliament (yet again)

PS: In this bland and factual representation of the turnout of events, I forgot to mention that
- Buta Singh has been an eight time lok sabha member,
- He was infamous for his inaction after Indira Gandhi's assassination in 1984,
- He was sidelined in the Congress party after his name surfaced in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha bribery case,
- He switched sides and became a minister in the Atal Bihari regime, but was dropped thanks to the bribery case
- He returned to Congress only to loose an election and be awarded the post of Governor

Sorry for my mistake

Whats in store for Rahul - Update

After all the Congress plenary session did turn out to be a Rahul Gandhi show from the word go. And yes, as I did mention before Rahul has decided what he wants!!
A well-thought out decision, Rahul rightly believes that leadership is not created but built block-by-block!!
   Applause

It sure seems Junior has a long way to go... So,what if detractors complain about dynasty rule in Congress??? Which party doesnt indulge in dynasty politics??
Atleast, he's got the looks, the intellect, and a distinguished ancestry!

Whats in store for Rahul?

Congress announced its new CWC & predictably
> The old favourites retain their positions
> Natwar loses his place
> Loyalists make an entry

& contrary to speculations Rahul doesnt' find a place in the Working Committee...

However, I think he will get a Cabinet Post or if he doesnt want it ---
He will make it into the CWC as 5 places in it are still vacant

"Rahul will decide what he wants and so will the party"
This is what Mrs.G said in an interview to CNN-IBN. 'Must say' that the interview conducted by the channels' editor-in-chief Rajdeep Sardesai was a 'must-watch'!
